It all started when...
I was typical 90’s teen and began my obsession with all things fashion. Born with a head of hair enough for ten, I continuously experimented and pretty much had every hair colour in the spectrum including some serious fashion faux- pas! A certified hair extensions veteran, over the years I have tried and tested every kind out there. I’ve always been into the 1990s Supermodel BIG HAIR look and set out to get that with my very first set of extensions at Antenna (London), the birthplace of hair extensions! Losing count of how many I've endured, each time shedding a set, I swore “never again!” when realising the time and effort that went into maintaining the extensions at home, the damage they did to my natural hair and the thousands of pounds i spent doing it!
Later on down the line and after travelling a whopping 500 miles up North, I was introduced to the weaving technique. This technique is in my mind, undoubtedly a no-brainer when it comes to hair extensions and having every day, envy-inducing hair! I have put my own knowledge and practice into perfecting this method, ensuring it is suitable for both Afro-Caribbean and Caucasian hair types and I have even proudly demised and tweaked my very own version of this technique :- The Blowout Weave!
Holding a fashion business degree from The London College of Fashion under my belt, I decided to follow my passion for hair and pursue a career in this industry . Over the last 18 years in the hair industry, I have managed to entwine both skills which have enabled me to work for many fashion-led brands, regularly assisting in press campaigns and have worked alongside globally known stylists and brand innovators such as Lee Stafford. I have also gained extensive education from establishments such as the International L’Oreal Academy obtaining their highly regarded “Colour Degree”, I have attended the intense vardering course at Toni and Guy International Academy and further perfected my skills by receiving 1-2-1 training at Not Another Salon Academy and internationally acclaimed educator, Sophia Hilton. I strive to provide innovative techniques for my clients and if there is ever anything I can do to improve my skills and provide a better service in the job that I love and for my business, I will achieve it.
Still in it’s infancy, I hope to make Blowout Beauty Bar a hair salon brand with a difference, offering non-standard, fashion-led salon services. From pop up salons offering on-trend braiding, plaiting and dry styling services to our very own method of weave extensions giving you the hair you’ve always dreamed of in super-quick time and for an affordable price.
Blowout Beauty Bar’s Mission Statement is to bring confidence to people through their hair and providing up-to-the-minute, on-trend, non-conventional styling over your regular salon services. Blowout Beauty Bar is all about giving you affordable-luxury, express “cool girl” hair!
